    Fish n' Clips Cameras

The topic of cameras is so broad that we felt that the experts should put in their 2 cents worth. Therefore, we direct you to the forum where we have a photo section that is devoted to cameras and photography. We encourage you to share your experiences with specific cameras, your favorite one, or ask questions about what camera is best for your level of expertise or situation. This field is constantly changing and only sites that devote themselves to cameras can keep up with all the products offered and the new ones that come out throughout the year. So whether you are an amateur just starting out or a professional, please, go to the forum and ask the experts or let others know what you think of a product or camera feature.

I will make a couple of suggestions based on the assumption that you are looking for a reasonably priced ($200-$400), easy to use (point and shoot), durable (will put up with at least as much abuse as your fishing equipment) camera that you can keep in an easily accessible pocket.

There are two manufacturers that make a pocket sized waterproof camera at the time of this writing:

The Olympus Stylus Shock and Waterproof series cameras:

  • Stylus 1030SW at about $400
  • Stylus 770SW at about $350
  • Stylus 790SW and 850SW at about $300.

And the Pentax Optio W30 at about $275.

Disclaimers: I am a fan of the Olympus and the prices are approximate, you can probably get a better deal if you look for it.

Have some great tips on Cameras? Post them on the Forum for others to use.
