To provide the best use and viewing for the Fish n Clips Magazine certain scripts and program languages were used. All interface to give you the feel of
the traditional print magazine. We've tried to use as much color and formatting as possible and still provide a resonable loading time.
The following tips will help in viewing and using the magazine:
If you do not see a menu bar, for navigating the magazine, located just below the masthead, your browser needs to have javascript turned on (see the "Help" tab).
All of the photo thumbnails can be opened in a lightbox for full display by clicking on the thumbnail. Again, javascript is used for this function.
To view the full articles, stories and reviews click on the "Read more" link trailing the brief description and it will open in a smaller window viewer.
To comment or rate any of the photos or material on the magazine you must be logged in. Just sign up and then log in and you can use the fun "Rate-It" system
or the comment box on the articles and stories.
Uploading of your material requires that you be signed up and logged in. Most upload pages are very detailed but you can find tips in the "tips" pages for
the material you are uploading or check the forum for more information posted by other users.
Your scrapbook file contains everything you've uploaded to the magazine and allows you to edit the contents and resubmit it. If the material is
under review (all material is reviewed by the staff before going live), has been updated or you requested it to be deleted, the file is not live until
the review is completed. You are sent an email notification when any of your material reviews are complete, usually within 24 hours.
The Secret Map file is a fun item for searching the world and this page allows you to mark your location and other fun stuff. To remove any of the markers
you'll have to email the magazine for removal.
Video viewing has experienced problems with Mozilla's FireFox browser. They run fine using MS Internet Explorer so at this time until the issue is resolved, please
use IE to view the videos if your FireFox does not display them.
Videos uploaded by subscribers in the Fish n Clips section vary in length, size and, well almost everything. Loading times will depend on your connection speed and the video's size. We
limit the size to 20MB and if most keep to the recommended length of 4-5 minute clips the flash file size should be around 3MB-5MB providing for a loading time
equal to that of YouTube videos.
The forum requires a separte login from the main magazine and it can be the same or different than the one you use on the magazine.
The forum is the place to search for information about everything from using the magazine to what kind of rod to use in Belize for bonefish.
See something we missed on using and viewing the magazine? Post it on the Forum
for others to use.
